Here we have a beautiful 18ct Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 1956 with one of our favourite classic Rolex mid-5os design of dials.
Dial
We would like to highlight the original superbly restored guilt Dauphine hands with ‘Spearhead and Hearts’ hour markers on a silver dial which is one of our favourite designs. You may notice this watch has the earlier fluted bezel which is not quite so pronounced as it is on the later, 1970’s onwards watches and here it frames the dial beautifully.
The Case
The watch case is it tip top condition with no scratches, or other marks visible to the naked eye. The case features a screw down case-back and a screw down Rolex crown. The watch case measures 35mm in diameter without the Rolex crown.
The Movement
The Chronometer grade Cal.1030 automatic movement with 26 jewels is highly accurate and reliable and it is a significant improvement over earlier models. It has just been overhauled and serviced and it is sparkling condition. We have no reservations in offering a 12 months warranty with this watch. The warranty is only applicable if list price is paid.
The Strap and Buckle
The watch comes with a new dark brown very high quality ‘croc’ leather strap* and gold plated Rolex buckle.
*This our standard strap for this watch but we are able to offer you a wide choice, for example a tan peacock strap or a green ‘croc’ are popular and offer these with no extra cost.
Box and Papers
Although there are no original papers, the watch will then be supplied with a detailed written receipt and 12 months warranty. A separate written valuation for insurance purposes will also be included. This watch comes with a high quality matching presentation box.
