Description
This is a stunning gentleman’s Rolex Precision dress watch in 9K solid yellow gold and in near mint condition. The watch is mid size for the period at 32mm diameter not including the crown. The watch has been thoroughly checked and serviced by us.
The stunning and original ivory/white Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standards. The raised gilt hour batons and gilt dauphine hands provide a beautiful contrast to the dial and match perfectly with the case and catch the light beautifully – as we have tried to show in the accompanying photographs. The high grade 17 jewel manual wind movement has just been serviced and is running beautifully. To finish the watch we have added a new, high quality dark brown croc grain brown leather strap with gold plated buckle. This is an outstanding example of this iconic watch..
The Dial: The superbly restored, Rolex signed ivory/white dial looks as good as the day it left the factory. The raised gilt hour batons and original gilt dauphine hands provide a lovely contrast to the dial and matches perfectly with the yellow gold case. The design of the dial is typical of the 1950’s and one of our very favourites. It is quite similar to the famous Rolex Explorer design. The lens is clear with no scratches.
The Case: The professionally cleaned and polished solid 9ct gold case is in excellent condition with only the lightest signs of wear. The two piece case measures just over 32mm wide, excluding the winding crown and 40mm, including the minimal lugs. Inside the case back is all correctly marked with the early Rolex crown and R.W.C and the appropriate 9 carat hallmarks.
The Movement: The high grade Rolex signed hand wound movement has just been serviced and is running beautifully. It is signed MONTRES ROLEX SA GENEVA, ‘SWISS’, ’ and ’17 JEWELS’.. These movements are very strong and reliable and seem to want to run forever!
Strap: A new high quality brown croc grain padded leather strap with gold plated buckle are fitted making it ready to wear.
Box and Papers: There are no original papers with this watch, however a written receipt, and a separate insurance valuation for the replacement value will be provided at the time of sale. The numbers on this watch match and date this watch to 1959 and will be quoted on the receipt for your security. The watch will be provided with a new high quality presentation box as shown in the photographs.

This is a fabulous watch with a wonderful dial from the most famous name in Swiss watch making. This watch will make an excellent investment as well as something to treasure and enjoy. As each year goes by the market for vintage Swiss watches is growing ever larger and the limited supply and high demand, particularly from the Far East, means prices are climbing!
