As simply stunning example of a fully restored, rare 18ct Pink Gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Bubble Back from 1949. Pink gold Rolex of this period are particularly rare and hard to find, as so few were made.

The delightful white and pink gold dial with pink gold Dauphine hands has been sympathetically restored to the very highest standards and is a perfect example of the simple and understated elegance which Rolex really owned in the late 40’s and early ’50s. Here the dial is crowned by a lightly fluted bezel which compliments the dial without taking stage, as do bezels on later watches. The bezel is in perfect condition as is the rest of the watch case, with no scratches, nicks dings or damage of any kind, visible to the naked eye. All the external case markings are present and clear including the model number and serial numbers between the lugs. All of this leading to the only conclusion that this watch has seen little use or led a truly charmed life! And we believe this is a fine an example as you will find.

As can be seen the movement is also in sparkling condition following a recent full overhaul and service by our watchmaker, a vintage Rolex specialist. We therefore have no reservations in offering a full 12 months parts and labour warranty with this watch. And for £350 we will be happy to extend this to 5 years and service the watch for you free of charge, when it is due, in 4 years time.

Regarding the choice of strap, we happen to think the new burgundy lizard skin suits the watch, but if you have another preference, for example something from the Hirsch range, we will be happy to oblige at no extra charge. For some inspiration please take a look at our partner’s website at:

Please call if you have any questions as we will be delighted to discuss all aspects of any of our watches or our service.

And incidentally, while this watch was made by Rolex as a gent’s dress watch, it could be equally suitable for a lady, today.
