ABOUT THIS WATCH

Description

Rarely found in solid 18K gold this is the iconic Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox with a heavy Swiss made case and with fancy lugs. The watch is in excellent overall condition, with no blemishes to the case and a newly restored dial with sweep seconds hand and centre dial alarm. The recently serviced movement is running strongly and keeping accurate time. The alarm function is working perfectly and loudly! The crowns are matching and unsigned. A new high quality leather strap recently fitted making this timepiece ready to wear. The watch is signed in three places, on the dial, the case, and movement.

Case: 18 carat solid gold, in excellent condition, measuring approximately 33mm in diameter, excluding the unsigned crowns and 38mm in overall length. Inside the case back is properly hallmarked “18K 0.750” and signed “LeCoultre Co” “SWISS”. The watch has obviously been cared for as there are no dents or scratches to be found on the case with the naked eye.

Dial: In superb newly restored condition with an elegant two tone bronze and satin silver finish, signed “Jaeger LeCoultre” and “Swiss Made”. Applied gold batons and bronze numerals mark the hours with gold ‘quill’ hands all in perfect condition. The overall look is one of simplicity and elegance, with little to give away the alarm function save for the simple arrow head mark on the centre dial and of course the two crowns. The lens has just been replaced.

Movement: A High quality 17 jeweled, hand wound Cal 814 movement is again signed LeCoultre Co and ‘SWISS’. It has been recently serviced and is running strongly and keeping good time. The watch is wound and set by the lower crown and the alarm is wound and set by the upper crown. Both functions wind and set nicely.

Strap: High quality black croc grain padded leather strap.

Box and Papers: There are no original papers with this watch, however a written receipt, and a separate insurance valuation for the replacement value will be provided at the time of sale. The numbers on this watch match and date this watch to 1953 and will be quoted on the receipt for your security. The watch will be provided with a new high quality presentation box as shown in the photographs.
The watch is sold on seven days no quibble sale or return and with 12 months warranty.*

In Conclusion

This is a fabulous watch from one of the most famous names in watch making and it will provide an excellent investment as well as something to treasure and enjoy. As each year goes by the world market for vintage gold watches is growing ever larger and a limited supply and high demand, particularly from the Far East means prices are climbing!

* Please note that a 12 months warranty on this watch will only be applied if the above price is paid.
