Description

Rarely found in solid gold this is the iconic Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox with Date and therefore also known as the MemoDate. The watch is in excellent overall condition, with an elegant classic case, original and unrestored art-deco style dial with a sweep seconds hand and centre dial alarm.  The recently serviced movement is running strongly and keeping accurate time. The alarm and calendar functions are working perfectly. The rarely found original domed crowns are JLC signed. The crystal has just been replaced and a new good quality leather strap has just been fitted so this timepiece is ready to wear.

The watch is signed in five places, on the dial, the case, two crowns and movement.

Case: 14 carat solid gold, in excellent condition, measuring approximately 35mm across, excluding the signed crowns and 41 mm in overall length.  The inside of the rear cover is hallmarked as “14K Gold” and is signed “LeCoultre”.  The watch has been very well cared for with only careful occasional use use and therefore has no dents or scratches of any significance.

Dial: Absolutely original and in wonderful condition with a satin silver starburst finish and signed “LeCoultre Memovox Swiss”. Applied gold batons and black Arabic numerals mark the hours and the hands are in very good shape.  The crystal has just been replaced. To the naked eye this dial looks superb and only upon close inspection with a loupe some light marks can be seen which is inevitable with a watch of this age and which is only mentioned for the sake of accuracy.

Movement: high quality 17 jeweled manual  cal. K911 movement, freshly serviced, running strongly and keeping good time. The watch is wound and set by the lower crown and the alarm is wound and set by the upper crown.  Both functions operate correctly. The date function is working correctly. To set the watch to the correct date, rotate the hands to past 12 o’clock until the date changes, then turn the hands backwards to 8.45. Rotating them forwards past 12 o’clock, will change the date by one increment.  Keep doing this until you achieve the correct date.

Strap: High quality brown crocodile grain padded leather strap.

This is a fabulous watch, manufactured by one of the most prestigious watchmakers in the world. It is in fully working condition, highly collectable as well as suitable for wear. Do not miss the opportunity to buy this rare and  iconic vintage watch. You will not see another like this !
