A totally stunning and highly elegant 9k gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual from 1956 in mint condition. This watch is running perfectly having just been serviced by my trusted watch maker.
Undoubtedly an outstanding feature of this watch is the original dial which has been refinished to the highest possible standards in original pearlescent ivory-cream and is absolutely stunning. The dial is complimented by gold batons and exquisite original gold dauphine hands with blued steel centre second hand. The dial is signed ‘Rolex Oyster Perpetual’ and ‘Officially Certified Chronometer’ The classic gold ‘Rolex Crown’ crowns the dial at 12 O’clock.
The original 9 karat gold case is in particularly fine condition having almost no marks visible to the human eye. Inside the screw down back are clear 9k gold hallmarks with Rolex Watch Co trademarks with the case number 6564 and ‘Montres Rolex SA Geneva Switzerland Patented’.
The original high grade ‘Chronometer Certified’ automatic movement is in perfect condition and is running strongly and accurately. It is marked ‘Rolex Perpetual Patented’, ‘Montres Rolex SA, ’25 Jewels’ and ‘Temperature Adjusted at 5 Positions’. It has the movement reference number ‘N717605’.
The Rolex signed gold ‘Oyster’ screw down winding crown is working perfectly. The watch winds and sets perfectly and the watch runs strongly and accurately.
The watch benefits from a new high quality dark brown crocodile skin strap and matching gold plated after market Rolex buckle.
All in all very stylish everyday or dress watch in excellent condition from the most famous name in Swiss watch making. This watch is offered at below retail market value and will therefore will make an excellent long term investment. The nearest new equivalent Rolex watch would cost somewhere around £12,000 today.
