Description
This is a fully restored gentleman’s Rolex ‘Cushion’ watch from 1929 in solid 9ct rose gold. It is of a large size for the period and is in perfect condition.
The Dial
The white porcelain dial is in perfect condition as are the beautiful gothic ‘open diamond’ design hands. Both are original outstanding features of this watch. The dial is signed Rolex and there is a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock.
The Case
The beautiful 9ct solid rose gold case is in superb condition, with no scratches or dings or marks visible to the naked eye. It is a large sized compared with typical cases of the day being 38mm across the diagonal, 32mm in width not including the crown, 32mm in height not including the lugs and 38mm including the lugs. And the watch is a slim 9mm in depth.
The Movement
The original Rolex 15 Jewels ‘Breguet Hairspring’ is in superb condition having been thoroughly inspected and serviced. As can be seen in the high resolution photograph it is in spotless condition indication that this watch has been very well cared for. We are confident in offering this watch for sale with a 12 month written warranty*.
The Strap & Buckle
A new very high quality, matching brown ‘croc’ leather, padded strap is fitted along with a gold plated Rolex buckle.
Box and Papers
Although there are no original papers with this watch, the numbers and markings are all correct, dating the watch to 1929. A detailed written receipt, with 12 months written warranty* and a separate insurance valuation for the replacement value will be provided at the time of sale. The watch is also supplied a high quality hardwood presentation box as shown in the photograph.
