Description

In almost as new condition this is the iconic Omega Seamaster, from 1964 in solid 18ct solid yellow gold, and a large size 35mm diameter case, not including the Omega Crown. The watch has the Seamaster emblem on the back which is only very lightly worn which is rare for and 18ct Seamaster as the crispness of the edges are a very good indicator of the amount of use the watch has been subject to.

The Dial

A beautifully economic and elegant Cross Hair silver dial – with raised gold Omega symbol and OMEGA, + Automatic, + Seamaster and below 6 – ‘Swiss Made’. Raised, applied batons. The original gold hour, minute and sweep seconds hands are in excellent condition – the glass is clear and in excellent condition. Please take a moment to admire the simplicity of this dial. It is a great example of 1960’s style and elegance. This is the original dial which has been expertly restored to the highest standards.

The Case

The superb condition, lightly polished 18ct solid Gold originally waterproof case* – measures 35mm diameter not including the Omega signed crown – Inside the case back bears the French Omega markings and external 18ct hallmarks. One of the lugs also bears an 18K hallmark – The case carries the reference numbers 502103.

The case has been professionally cleaned and polished and has no scratches or marks or dents of any kind. The back has the famous Seamaster emblem which is in very original, lightly worn condition – See photos for details of this superb case, especially the Seamaster emblem on the back. This is usually worn to a lesser or greater degree and is often missing completely. Here it is very distinct and crisp.

*Originally specified as Water Resistant to 20 metres. This has not been tested and is by no means guaranteed.

The Movement

Omega copper-toned calibre 552 Automatic, looks pristine – Twenty Four 24 jewels – serial 19184080 number which denotes the date of manufacture as 1964 – The movement winds, runs & sets smoothly and is in very good working order, keeping good time – Signed Omega Watch Co Swiss – Twenty Four 24 jewels – and Cal. 552 Adjusted 5 Positions.

This watch has just been fully overhauled and serviced by our Omega guru and it is calibrated to run arrow straight within + or – 10 second / day! This is no exaggeration. We have seen the test results from an electronic watch test instrument and in its half wound state this watch is running accurately within 5 seconds per day!.

The Strap and Buckle

The watch is complimented with a very high quality leather strap – with an aftermarket gold plated buckle. We will be happy to change the colour or style of strap for you and if a new Omega strap is preferred, this can be fitted for an extra £40!

Box and Papers

This watch comes with an original vintage Omega presentation box as shown. And although there are no original papers, the watch will then be supplied with a detailed written receipt and 12 months warranty. A separate written valuation for insurance purposes will also be included.
