I have no hesitation in recommending.
From start to finish the service I have received has been excellent. Kirsty has kept me informed all the way and the level of the finished repair to a very old and worn vintage watch was exemplary.

ABOUT THIS WATCH

Description

In fully restored condition this is the iconic top of the range Omega Constellation dress watch from 1960 and in solid 18ct yellow gold. The case is a large size 34mm diameter, not including the Omega Crown. The watch also has a chronometer grade movement and the rare and sought after black dial with a date function. And with this watch, the 18ct Omega Constellation emblem on the back is only lightly worn indicating the watch has only ever seen light use.

The Dial

Mint, Black, Dial – with raised gold OMEGA signature and Omega logo. Signed Constellation, Automatic, Chronometer. And below 6 – ‘Swiss Made’ at the very bottom. Raised, applied guilt baton hour markers – the original restored gold hour, minute and sweep seconds hands are in superb condition. New lens. Please take a close look at the photos of this fabulous dial – it is the original dial, which has been restored to the very highest standards.

The Case

This is a particularly beautiful stepped case, in lightly polished 18ct solid gold with a waterproof screw down case-back*. – It measures approx 42mm lug to lug and 34mm diameter not including the Omega signed crown – Inside the case back bears the Omega Watch Co. branding and FAB SUISSE and 18 .750, ALD 886, 113192

The case has been professionally cleaned and polished and has no scratches or marks or dents of any kind. The back has the famous Constellation logo which is in original, lightly worn condition – See photos for details of this superb case, especially the Constellation on the back. This is often worn to a lesser or greater degree and is sometimes missing completely. Here it is very clear and distinct.

*Originally specified as Water Resistant. This has not been tested and is not guaranteed.

The Movement

The orignal Omega Chronometer grade Cal.561 copper-toned automatic movement is pristine. It is signed Omega Watch Co. Swiss, Twenty Four 24 Jewels – with serial number 17554131 which dates manufacture to 1960. The movement winds, runs & sets smoothly and is working perfectly and keeping excellent time, – Signed Omega Watch Co Swiss – Twenty Four 24 jewels – and Cal. 561 Adjusted 5 Positions.

These Chronometer grade 561 movements are very highly regarded for their accuracy and reliability. And this watch has just been fully overhauled and serviced by our Omega guru and it is calibrated to run arrow straight within +8 seconds / day! This is no exaggeration. We have seen the test results from an electronic watch test instrument and in its half wound state this watch is running accurately within +8 seconds per day!.

This Omega is offered with a 12 months warranty,* see below for conditions.

The Strap and Buckle

The watch is complimented with a very high quality black ‘croc’ leather strap with an aftermarket Omega gold plated buckle. And if you would prefer a different colour or style of strap please let us know and we will do our best to oblige. If a new Omega strap is preferred, this can be fitted for an extra £50.

Box and Papers

This watch comes with an original vintage Omega presentation box as shown. And although there are no original papers, the watch will then be supplied with a detailed written receipt and 12 months warranty. A separate written valuation for insurance purposes will also be included.

In Conclusion

This is a beautiful and fine example of the flagship Omega which remains in production to this day! Overall it is in wonderful condition and cannot be faulted. If you would like to buy a 1960s, 18ct gold Omega Constellation this ticks all the boxes. And it comes with vintage Omega box, and offered with a 12 months warranty!*

*The 12 months warranty is only applicable if the listing price it paid.
